Week 6 ...
So I’ve gone a week or two without posting on my blog and honestly I’ve been trying really hard to keep up with the blog and the photos for the book, writing the recipes and on top of all this Class 12 project stuff, I also have a mountain of school work to do! It truly is a hard thing to do when you’re a great procrastinator like myself.
In the weeks that I haven’t posted I’ve written out way more recipes and decided to add a few more sections into my book. I originally started with the idea that my cookbook would have 5 sections, which were going to be breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and snacks but as times gone on I realized that I don’t want the snack section because personally I couldn’t think of any great vegan snacks that were too different than some of the desserts I had or a more simplified lunch recipes, so I decided to cut that section from my book. Also when I was going over my plans with my sister she said it would be really good to have a condiment section because for a few of the recipes I have to make mayonnaise and ranch etc. so it would be nice to have a section that people could easily refer to. While my sister and I were talking about this new condiment section we were gong over the recipes and I asked her why we used certain vegan milks instead of others or certain types of flour and that created the idea of having a small section somewhere in the book to answer those WHY questions. As a vegan for a few years myself I know how many times people question why and I even do so I thought it would be a really good addition to the book.
As well as refining my book I have also been setting up a small studio to take my pictures for my cookbook in. Its super simple and allows me to take photos of more foods and doesn’t limit me to the few short hours of daylight that we have here in winter!
Its been quite full on and I know it’ll just get more full on but I’m ready because I know I can do it!!
